Shorts of the Season

 //Shorts: H&M //Blouse: H&M //Tights: Wolford //Ankle Boots: Chloé //Bag: Gucci

I refuse to use shorts only during S/S season.
These tweed ones go perfectly well with black opaque tights all year round.

Neighbourhood Watch

//Blouse: Dolls //Jeans: Cheap Monday //Ballerinas:Azaleia do Brazil //Sunnies:Surf Shop

Today me and Nelson were keeping all the abuelitos of nearby buildings on neighbourhood watch.

Granny-spotting outfit consisted of V-neck/back silky blouse from Dolls (Colombian brand), thou ol´faithful - and already ol' faded - Cheap Monday jeans (note to my self: next time when stop over in Stockholm, get more!) and flats from Brazil that I had to buy last time traveling as the airline company lost my luggage.

Something White

//Dress: Korety //Pantyhose: Falke //Ankle Boots: Zara

One day last December it was cold as hell, dark as hell and as ugly outside as only in December it can get.
At 7PM as I was finally getting out of the office, it was half raining outside, an ugly head ache was creeping in, and my stomach was starting to make embarrassing noise because of the hunger. All I wanted to do was to get home and eat take away pad thai out of cartoon box. And get rid of the day's absolutely hideous clothes, hence the laundry day -uniform...

 That's when it hit me.

I had promised to show my face at an art exhibition opening in half an hour!
It was supposed to be my friend's big night, invitees were la crème de la crème of the town's artsy and hip.
So, I did what every gal would do: hit the nearest shop and bought the first decent looking thing before jumping into a taxi.
The night was a success (probably thanks to the sponsor, a wine company) and the dress was OK.
Just that at home I happened to study a little closer it's neck slip. It read in a very nice handwriting:
"Maternity Dress - Beautiful Expecting"

Seeing Red

//Dress: Luani //Leggings: American Apparel //Biker Boots: Giuseppe Zanotti // Bag: Miu Miu

Mondays are better face with strong colors.
Red lips are an easy way to cheat on make up. You don't really need to stuff the face with anything else. Just lipstick and ta-daa! You'll look totally put together!
My choice, now and forever, is MAC's Matte in Russian Red.

A Woman's Right to Shoes

Yeah... What can I say?
Figured that it would be wise to train Nelson as watch dog. To protect ... my shoes.
I'd die if someone robbed my strappy sandals like Carrie's in Sex and The City.

Alpaca Dress

//Dress: a tailor shop in Bolivia //Heels: Emilio Pucci //Pantyhose: Falke

One of the best parts in traveling is the encounter with local specialties... in fashion.
La Paz, Bolivia is probably not a Mecca of Style, but I truly enjoy visiting there because of the affordable and 100% quality alpaca hair clothes and scarves.
Especially now, after destiny led me to the best local seamstress, Doña Aracelia.
She makes every piece according to customer's wishes and her clothes always fit perfectly!
...Now, if I only learned not to throw them in the washing machine by accident...

Gone Shopping

//Tunic: La Sastreria //Leggings: American Apparel // Ankle boots: Zara // Bag: Balenciaga // Sunnies: Versace

Again, leggings are not pants. But they go just fine with and ass-covering tunic, right?
Yesterday after work I went hunting shopping, and these shiny black ones are part of the PFRO, Perfect Fitting Room Outfit: they go both as pants and stockings when trying on clothes.
Oh, and my boho love, my Balenciaga... I've always loved Balenciaga's bags, but after witnessing so many sad cases where the ultra soft and delicate leather went bad or broken in no time, I was kinda doubting whether to get my own. Then, as a miracle from Bag Goddess, came their 10 Year Anniversary Edition line in 2011.
Same body but in better skin!

Breezy Blouse

//Blouse: ParPar (from here) //Jeans: Zara // Heels: Zara

A breezy blouse is perfect with super skinny jeans. It gives a little air to breath, is ultra comfy to wear but still looks somehow sophisticated.
And I could not yet pack these color block heels away, they were originally an inseparable part  of my coolest summer outfits.
Who cares, autumn is a colored season too!

Diseño Tico

Is there anything more inspiring than talented, ambitious people aiming high in art and fashion?

I came to the conclusion that there most certainly isn't, after chatting with Daniela Terán, fashion designer and one of the owners of Costa Rican design house Deaquí y Deallá. I sort of stumbled upon Daniela and her amazing place through FID, Festival Internacional de Diseño Costa Rica, as Deaqui and Deallá is having their FID inspired month.

Deaqui y Deallá is a combination of fashion boutique, showroom and exhibition space for innovative design. Present are local and international designers that create original and unique pieces.
Meaning clothes, shoes, accessories, jewelry, art, furniture, decoration, books...

Though local diseño tico is very much on display, the store currently offers more than 48 works of designers from 18 different countries. Among them, to my surprise, one of the coolest Finnish brands, KaksiTvå. Man, the world is small nowadays...

Says Daniela: "
Apart from being just a design shop and space for exhibitions, D&D is a platform for emerging young designers. It is hard to make yourself known alone. Bringing talents together is much more powerful! For example, we choose every month one designer that we introduce to the press and to our customers, and who'll be focused on the display of the space."

Tropical Business

// Trousers: tailored //Shirt: Zara // Heels: Stuart Weitzman

It's challenging to sport HC business outfit and keep your chic.
Double challenge when +35C and tropical humidity.
