Back to the 50's

 //Skirt: H&M //Top: Zara //Heels: Emilio Pucci //Hat: Birgitte //Sunnies: Céline

Some two summers ago I was on a business trip in Turku, Western Finland, and snapped this cute little midi-length skirt from H&M sale for 5 euros.

I kinda fell in love that summer with the Dolce&Gabbana collection that had chili-printed bottoms and similar corset tops. So, as soon as I got back to Mexico I made little less picosa combo of my own, topping that Mad Men style secretary skirt with an ancient Zara short waist corset top.

With a huuuge sun hat and the lovely Céline large Audreys it makes a nice Capri-vibe, doesn't it?

Style Alert: Louis Verdad

//Dress& Heels: Zara //Blazer: Weekday //Belt: Paola Perez //Necklaces: Chihuahuan handcraft //Bag: Chanel

Do you remember the buzz-causing kiss Madonna and Britney did at MTV Awards some years ago?
Remember how kissy-kiss missy Ciccone was wearing that slytty sensual tight-as-ever black cashmere two-piece then?

Yeah, me neither would have known that ten years later I would go nuts for the pieces of the creator of that shameless outfit.

His name is Louis Verdad, of Mexican descent, currently working from L.A doing absolutely fabulous designs for the rich and famous.

When Louis marched his first models as the closure of last weeks Google+ Fashion Mexico show, my jaw just dropped. For some (ehm, Madonna-related...) reason I was expecting a handful of untasteful quiero ir al antro -disco dresses in mini length.

But, it was nothing alike!

All the FW 2013/2014 pieces selected for the runway were chic and sophisticated, complimenting female body the most feminine way. It was truly beautiful work with colors, cuts and materials. I mean, it never would have occurred to me to combine burgundy pants, smokey grey top ...and striking electric blue in heels, socks or gloves!

I can honestly say I'd wear with the greatest joy every single piece seen last Thursday on the runway, and hope to be able to try on some ASAP.

Check out the whole show here.

Olmos & Flores

Last day of the first Fashion week did not offer too much sight for the sore eyes, but there is always somebody that makes the day.

Today, I thank Guadalajaran duo Olmos & Flores for bringing in their butterflies.

Bare Your Shoulders!

//Top: vintage Victor Costa //Pants: Zara //Heels: Stuart Weitzman

I was wearing this v Pretty Woman-ish corset top the other day in Google+ Fashion Mexico fashion show.
It is one of my vintage finds - straight from the one and only 1990´s!

I love it so much, it was about four times larger when I bought it, but my seamstress lady takes great challenges, and has never ever failed.
I love her so much, too!

Live on Google+ Fashion Mexico: Lovecraft

La Güerita is online!

Google+ Fashion Mexico is an outrageous, amazing event for all of us style freaks.
I have the pleasure of keeping you guys up to date of today's shows.
Here a statue-like silver piece from Lovecraft. And eyes on the color combination: gold in the shoes with ice cold silver dress! Hooray to breaking the rules!

A Fashionable Start: IDM FW 13/14

In traditional fashion megapolis like London, NY, Paris and Milan the so called fashion months are just over, but here in Mexiland it's all just getting started.

 How exciting!

One of the fashionable starters is International Designers Mexico, IDM, with their three-day FW 13/14 event. Last night Yours Truly also stopped by to feel the vibe.

This year's IDM was a nice warm-up for these stylish times. Maybe a little uneven mix of designers put together and somewhat latino-like (un-)organization, as per my humble opinion, but surely worth the visit!

Above a little peek-a-boo to my favourite pieces from Helguera, La Vill, Jonathan Morales and Stres.

Sky Bright

//Dress: La Sastreria //Heels: Christian Louboutin

A proof that it is possible to jump like a crazy person with 12 cm heels!

That is what surviving weeks of locuras does to a girl.
We're changing houses and lately it's been mostly cleaning, packing, selling, donating and throwing away things.
That meant ridiculously long nights and at some point I thought I was losing it, but at in the end getting rid of useless crap sets the spirit free!

Now, let's to start a new chapter, put up a little party and sip a thousand frozen margaritas!

Good weekend to you all!
