Angie

*This post is dedicated to my dear friend H, who puts up with my last minute "Euro-shoppings" and works as one (wo-)man courier company.

Got myself a new pet!
Her name is Angie and she is a gorgeous little snake clutch.
She'll be home soon with some other new friends.

I don't know if Angel Jackson is as hot brand hereabouts as it is in Europe. If not, you can go and admire their absolutely mouthwatering bag collection here.

Not only is this British designer duo making bold and beautiful designs; it's also making something one could call ethical luxury
 A little green girl inside of me (dressed in Stella McCartney) says "Yay!" getting to know more brands that produce their goods in fair-trade workshops and make them from ethically sourced materials.

Fringe

//Dress: Vintage Pia Rucci // Heels: Emilio Pucci

You know my passion for vintage couture...
This fringed leather dress is so 80's, I was nearly on fire when I spotted it the local vintage store.
I mean, shoulder pads - check!
long sleeves -check!
kitch-y fringe ornaments: check!

Just add fierce red lipstick, lace black heels and Miss Universum 1988 - look-a-like voluptuous curls, and you are R E A D Y.

Plate of Beauty

A while ago I got asked about my beauty essentials.

 I do not need much, basically it is just these life-savers that get me through a day (and night).
Unfortunately some of them are not available in Latin America, so I totally suggest stocking up in your travels.

Elizabeth Arden's Eight Hour Cream is an iconic "perfect for everything" balsam I learned to love from my dear Grandmother. Only thing we did not share with her was the liking of it's "interesting" smell ...ehm, fragrance.
Luckily somebody at Arden's got the message and made an odorless version of this classic.

The Body Shop's Vitamin C face spray is a must for every dry-skinned traveler. Also a proven fix-me-up for the mornings after naughty nights aka. hangover.

My three musketeers for hair are DermOrganic Hair Repair Masque with Moroccan Argan oil, Tangle Teezer a brush every girl should have - trust me on this one - and spray dry shampoo. I have no idea why dry shampoos are nowhere in sight in Mexico. Why? WHY?

There's so no leaving the house without a perfume. I've only trusted in three fragrances in my life (Trussardi Jeans, Carolina Herrera CH and Chloé) since I felt I had grown up from Polo Sport Woman in 1996. (Thank you Lord for that)

My latest make-up crush is L'oreal's Nude Magique BB-Cream in light 01.
It's a real bargain (like ten bucks or so) and winner of all (western world) BB cream tests! It's kinda like day cream with balancing toner pearls that melt into your skin when applied, making it picture-perfect.
Also loving the fact that it has a tone pale enough to fit my white as chalk-boat captain's face.

Last but not least, my best make-up buddies.
Bobbi Brown's eye liner gel in Sepia Ink is the best and most durable eye liner ever made. So easy to apply with a brush, that even I get beautiful lines that do not look like an electrocardiograph. For lips I have two loyal friends nowadays: Clinique's Chubby Stick in Oversized Orange and NARS lipstick in Schiap.

Two-Toned

//Jeans, Blouse: Zara //Heels: Stuart Weitzman //Hat: Red Dragon //Bracelet: H&M
//Necklace: Rapsodia

These jeans are funny.
They look like someone was about to dye them white but run out of bleach on the way.
Wednesday was a crappy day, but funny jeans and a panama hat made it better.
A little funnier.

Stripes

//Maxi dress: Locura //Heels: Vivienne Westwood f. Melisa //Sunglasses: Céline
//Necklaces: Mexican Handcraft from Chihuahua

Last summer I wanted so badly to finally find a maxi dress that would be:
a) made of natural fabric, like cotton, to avoid nasty sweat marks by "It's cooking under the polyester tent" -effect
b) neutral color so I could wear it in the city without looking like I'd missed my plane to Cancún
c) nicely fitted: neither a granny cape nor titty show peep.

One day when heading to supermarket I happened to pass by a local "Fiorella" (Finns know what I mean) aka. trashy fashion store that sells whatever naco was IN circa millenium.
 And there it was, my dress! Soft cotton, sophisticated stripes and like tailored to my body!
Never say never...

Motosuit

 //Leather pants: Maison Martin Margiela for H&M //Top: Zara //Blazer: Weekday
//Ankle boots: Chloé //Bag: Chanel

I was on the hunt for the perfect leather pants for... a very long time.
I refused to accept fake materials as they make you sweat like a pig en parilla and quickly loose their form. I tell you, it wasn't easy!
I had my eye on these classics from MMM & H&M co-operation collection since the first day, but the price was a little overrated for H&M, though they were 100% leather and fit like a glove.
Well, it looked like they were not very appreciated here in Mexiland, since I found them later on -80% off, and could not have been happier!

8 X Güerita

Stylish Mikko from Private Blend blog shoot me with a  blog award.
Oh my!
Mom always told me to respond in the same language I'm being talked to. Remembering her wise words, I'm writing this post in Finnish.

Kiitos siis Mikko, blogisi on huippu, eikä vähiten miehisen näkökulmansa vuoksi!

Señores y señoras, kahdeksan asiaa, joita et (halunnut) tietää minusta:

1. Jaa mikä Kueriitta
Blogin nimi tarkoittaa paikallisella slangilla blondia. Itse tulin (hiusvari-) kaapista vasta puolisentoista vuotta sitten, siihen asti värjasin lettiäni sinnikkäästi mustanruskeaksi. Paikallinen styrkka vesilaatu, tyrmistynyt kampaajani sekä riittävän monen vuoden etäisyys armaan kotimaani värjäyskierrekulttuuriin (jonka olen kyllä ymmärtänyt olevan jo väistymässä luonnollisten sävyjen tieltä) käännyttivät lopulta kovakorvaisemmankin tolvanan paljastamaan todelliset karvansa. Blondi-identiteettini on kyllä yhä vähän hakusessa, tosin olen huomannut tukan avittavan kivasti latinalaisessa byrokraattisissa "hidasteissa".
50 Shades of Black, vuonna 2010

3. Minulla on viha-rakkaussuhde suomalaisiin pukeutumistrendeihin.

In your face!

Hiljalleen huomaan valuneeni apinoimaan ihanaa Miraa: shoppailu saatetaan aina päätökseen Doña Valerian pikku studiolla. Doñan osaavissa hyppysissä tasapäisinkin Zara-paituli saa juuri meikäläisen persjalkaista torsoa imartelevan, kohennetun olomuodon.
Kenkiä rakastan sellaisella intohimolla, etten suurin surminkaan kävele uusilla kipittimillä ennen Pedron Kenkä-Sairaalan pohjia, korkolappuja ja suojakasittelyä. Huomatkaa muuten tämä komea nimi viiden neliön kenkälankilta haisevalla kopperolla! Nimi on kuitenkin miestä myöten, sillä Pedron parkkiintuneissa kätösissä korjaantuvat jopa naapurin koiran riepottelemat Loubit (älkää kysykö...)

8. Toisaalta liikutuin kyyneliin asti kun H&M avasi marraskuussa Meksikossa ekan Lattari-Amerikan kauppansa.
Sain puljun avajaisisaa kyyneltä silmään ylpeydestä. Meidän Henkka! Tai no, ruotsalaisten, mutta tavallaan...

Lopuksi jaan tunnustuksen jokaiselle ulkosuomalaiselle tyylibloggaajalle!

Just a Glance

 //Dress: Sarah Bustani //Heels: BCBGMaxAzria //Pantyhose: Falke

Few blurry snapshots of Valentine's Day outfit.
I found this cute little number from Sarah Bustani when clearing out closets.
I haven't been shopping in ages (shoes don't count!) and actually love the fact that I don't feel any need to do so either at the moment. My current wardrobe still gives me inspiration.
Less is more!

Be My Valentine

 I'm not the kind of girl that gets all ooh and aahh for cheesy rose bouquets sent to my office, chocolates or teddy bears.

Valentine's Day is probably the only day in the whole year I prefer cooking home.
Just the two of us, candles, music (and no need for any outfits at all, hah!)
 No pink cup cakes or lame Hallmark heart cards, guacala!

Yet there is something I happily receive as gift, any day of the year!
Lover, bring me anything from Saint Laurent or Diptyque (preferably in Gardenia fragrance) and let's have a marathon of BBC's original mini series of Pride and Prejudice...

Feliz Día de San Valentin!

Un Martes de Primavera

 //Jeans: Zara //Blouse: Sash //Heels: Stuart Weitzman //Jacket: Massimo Dutti

Oh my, the weather in Mexico has been at it's best!
+27 degrees Celsius brings out the best of people even in casual Tuesday dressing: colors, spring-y dresses, no jacket, sunglasses and happy faces.
Me too, I just couldn't help but dress in my ol'n'faithful flower blouse by Sash and some white jeans.
My Chanel-inspired jacket was definitely too much in this weather to wear, but old (winter) habits die hard.

Back to Basics

//Jeans: Pieces //Top: Zara //Heels: Zara

Past weeks have been full of amazing, life-changing events, that have kept Yours Truly busy as never before.
Haven't had time to think much about my looks, but I guess when one is totally, utterly in love and happy, even the oldest high-waist jeans, a simple white top and some sandals make you look wonderful.
This is how I was dressed when having long lunch in our favorite Lebanese restaurant today.
